AVID is an elective class currently offered to freshmen and sophomores at Apopka High School, with the goal of preparing students for college-readiness. On Saturday, September 30, Apopka High School AVID students had the distinct honor of presenting the American Flag in the opening ceremony of the University of Central Florida football game, where the Knights defeated Memphis 40 to 13. AVID students spent the day at UCF as a way of experiencing college life; beginning at UCF’s 63’ South dining facility, continuing on a walking tour of the campus and tailgating festivities, and culminating at the football game itself.
