Athletic Trainers

Mr. Keister, Ms. Nguyen, and Mr. Mogol brought several of AHS’s athletic training student aides to the OCPS Athletic Training Olympics. Out of 19 OCPS High Schools, our students finished in the top 5, and were the top placing team in the Metro West Conference. Our Sports Medicine Team wouldn’t be complete without our student aides. They work hard and take pride in what they do for our student-athletes. They are shining examples of what it means to be a Blue Darter.  (pictured clockwise from the top left: UCF Intern Stephanie Riquelmy, Lauren Taylor, Sydney Goree, Kat Mays, Mikayla Peterson, Berlinda Clerger, Quenton Lane, Alexis McIntosh, Bianca Lopez, Faith Evans, and Julianna Domenech).

Essay Contest Winners

AHS students took 1st (Lauren Lambert) and 2nd (Cassidy Warren) place in the Atlantic Institute Art & Essay contest.

The Atlantic Institute is a non-profit civic organization that provides various academic and educational platforms to promote diversity in our society. They are significantly influenced by the teachings and writings of Mr. Fethullah Gulen who emphasizes the importance of education, dialogue and understanding in cross-cultural engagement. These universal values are esteemed by many previous scholars and leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Rumi, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This gives us hope and motivation that we can find common denominators as the global citizens of the world.

The prompt for this year’s Art & Essay Contest: Looking Past Stereotypes: Accepting others in today’s world.
