Week in Review (8/28-9/3)
Our Beginning Band students have received their new instruments so that they may experience one of the greatest gifts of life…..MUSIC! New sounds will fill the band room and our homes. Instruments need to go home daily for practice. We will be learning good practice habits, so that time is efficient.
In Concert Band, we are helping our newest students get accustomed to their new instruments. Many of our students will become mentors, by training others. What a great opportunity to collaborate and help one another.
Symphonic Band students are working on developing and unifying sound, discipline in rehearsal, and preparing for their first concert in October. Our band officers have been very helpful, organizing many aspects of our band program, and helping others.
Jazz Band is beginning to learn a lot about style and articulation. A new aspect of playing for many is improvisation, where music is made up on the spot. It is great to hear the students try something new and be successful.
