The story of a Motivated Midfielder

      Karen Jara, a 4’11 soccer player, has a heart larger than herself; A heart large enough to help others, and a passion strong enough to melt yours. She finds joy in helping everyone from the sick, to the poor and misfortuned.

      “I’m in the Best Buddies Club, and it’s where you be friends with people that have disabilities and illnesses… it’s to help them out and stuff.” She said

      Even with her own struggles, she works hard, keeps going, and always has time to spread joy and love to others. But, the question is, What keeps her going?

     “I really look up to my dad” she explains, “He works his butt off to pay for my soccer bills, which are just crazy expensive. He’s always there to support me, and he always wants the best for me.”

     She goes on to explain that helping others makes her feel accomplished and have a sense of fulfillment. She strives to support others the way her father supports her and her soccer.

     Karen doesn’t sacrifice everything for the good of others though. she makes sure there’s always time for what motivates and makes her happy – soccer.

   “I love to play soccer! It keeps me busy from getting into trouble and doing bad things, because without it, i’m very much a rebel child…”

     Soccer gives her the ability to deal with all her emotions, get a clear head, and stay focussed on her goals. She aspires to help people feel the way soccer makes her feel – Happy.

   With open arms, a helping hand and some Charismatic energy, this is what makes her, the great, Karen Jara.
