Course Descriptions

 

Beginning Women’s Chorus is offered to female students who want to learn the fundamentals of music, dance, and acting.  Students who enroll in chorus are expected to participate for the full school year. There will be opportunities for this class to perform in several required performances including theatrical events. Various afterschool rehearsals will be required.

Women’s Chorus is offered to female students who want to improve their singing potential and learn the fundamentals of music, dance, and acting. This group is open to all 7/8 grade students who have a love for music. This group will focus on a wide variety of singing styles, and will be expected to perform in required performances. Various afterschool rehearsals will be required.

Hunter’s Creek Singers consists of students who have shown outstanding vocal aptitude, outstanding musicianship, and superior behavior. Expectations and standards in this auditioned chorus are set very high. Students must show that they can withhold their standing in this chorus both musically and behaviorally. Students are highly encouraged to study privately. This group will be involved in many concerts and music festivals and will represent the school music program at many performing venues. Various afterschool rehearsals will be required.

Notables is an auditioned ensemble consisting of both male and female voices. This highly select ensemble will focus primarily on learning a wide variety of musical repertoire, and dances. In addition to performing in school district concerts and festivals, this ensemble will represent Hunter’s Creek Middle School in numerous community performances. Various afterschool rehearsals will be required.

Men’s Chorus consists of male students that want to sing and learn the fundamentals of music.  This group will learn a wide variety of music. This group will also perform at festivals and concerts in the community and throughout the school district. They will be involved in several required performances. Various afterschool rehearsals will be required.
