2013 – 2014

Putting Information to Work: Using technology to help us make information-rich products. (Here are a few examples of each of our projects.)

The Bee Problem: After reading about the bee problem, we each decided on a short message that we wanted to spread in the world. Next, we used Paint to help us make a bumper sticker that might help solve the problem!

Science Bumper Stickers: To practice our Paint skills some more – we used Paint to make another bumper sticker. This time we needed to deliver a message centered on our big Science research project.

No Photos in Restaurants: After reading an article about how many people take photographs of food and how different restaurants feel about it, we created signs for our own imaginary restaurants! We used Paint to create signs.

Mixed-Up Valentines:

We made electronic valentines using QR Codes! We had to follow some very detailed directions and a Valentine Format to make our Mixed-Up Valentines!

The end result was a QR Code Valentine that we could copy at home to share with our friends and family!

Wordle Portfolio Covers:
We love making Wordles to cover our portfolios each year! (They are in black and white so that we can print them.)

2014 – 2015

Frames:
This year we learned how to use FRAMES, a new movie-making software! Here are our products. (Please keep in mind that we were trying to learn how to use the software… this wasn’t a story-writing activity, so parts of the stories have been shortened!)

Photo “Studio”:
In order to create our “Creature Creations”, we first had to create our creatures. We did this by working in teams to think of ideas and build our creatures! Once they were built, we needed to take photographs with a solid colored background that we could make “disappear” in Frames. Here are a few photos of us using the studio!

Invention Products:
We pulled names out of a “hat” to see who was going to get to make Frames and Prezi’s for their Inventors & Inventions products! Here they are!
