Lady Eagles Soar High

The girl’s varsity volleyball took on Father Lopez Catholic School at home on Oct. 25.

The game was a showcase of their talents with them winning the first three sets in a row. Number 24, Elizabeth Pamphile, dominated on the court all three sets showing her leadership and volleyball skills.

The first set was tightly contested with the game going into deuce 24-24. It took a little comeback for our girls to get it that way, but the persevered and fought back, to score two consecutive points.

The second set was a completely different pace with our girls scorching Father Lopez’s volleyball team with the score being 25-20. The result in this set may show a dominating performance, but the outcome did not seem clear toward the beginning of the set with Father Lopez score four straight points. The Eagles did not let this faze them, and there Libra Amanda Solomon made sure not to let any more easy points be scored on them.

The third and final set of the night was a competitive game as Father Lopez fought desperately, not to be eliminated. The Eagles, in the end, fought harder winning 25-23. The team celebrated in joy jumping around showing their excitement to go to states. They conducted themselves well and showed respect for their opponents.
