Good evening, Falcon Vanguard Students & Families:
I am extremely proud of our Wind Ensemble students for earning an Excellent rating at the 2022 State Concert Band MPA. Our performance was extremely strong, and we represented our school very well. Thanks also to our parent chaperones and all who came out to see the performance.
Band Fees Reminder: All band fees are past due. Please be sure to make payments ASAP for outstanding fees. Another gentle reminder that unpaid fees will follow you and prevent you from being able to participate in campus activities, including the Band Banquet and Graduation. If you have any questions, please check your statement on Charms.
We have a LOT of testing coming up. Please stay on top of the testing schedule. SENIORS: I will be giving the make-up test for the Band CFA tomorrow during 1st period. If you still need to take it, please make plans to come in. If you need to take the 8th period CFE, you can do it then as well.
MATTRESS MAN FUNDRAISER! We are finishing up our spring fundraising by inviting The Mattress Man back to our campus! As a part of the fundraiser, he is going to give us a bonus for reaching certain goals and the first of those is having people you know text in and be a part of our event!

For every 100 people who text, we will receive a bonus of $500! The more people who text the code, the bigger our bonus!! The actual event will occur on May 7th from 10 AM to 5 PM in the cafeteria. We hope you will join us.
The annual Band Awards Banquet will be held on Sunday, May 15th at River Run Church at 5:30 PM (doors open at 5 PM). Tickets are on sale now at http://www.teachtix.com/erhs. Tickets will be free for students and $25 for guests (plus applicable fees). Semi-Formal dress is required for all attendees (no shorts, no jeans, no flip flops, no t-shirts). Tickets must be purchased by May 6th. All band fees must be paid in full before a student can attend the banquet. Anyone who is applying for leadership must attend the banquet to be appointed to a position.
SPRING CONCERT SERIES: Tickets for the Orchestra Concert (May 4), Band Concert (May 5), and Jazz Concert (May 9) are now available on Teach Tix (see the link in the above paragraph). Tickets are $5 each (plus applicable fees) and will be $7 (cash only) if you purchase them at the door.
Leadership Applications will be due TOMORROW. Please make sure you pass out your two teacher recommendations as well. Check the board for updates when your teachers turn them in to me. Students should not be carrying completed recommendation forms.
IMPORTANT FOR 2022-23 VANGUARD MEMBERS: Medical forms that are being required by Orange County Public Schools are posted on the Band App. Physicals must be completed between May 1st and the first day of band camp (July 18). An ECG is required of all students. Students who have already had once done in your high school career do not need another one. All forms will be uploaded to a special program and all students must be cleared to participate by the Athletic Trainer. The physical hard copies should be brought to Mr. Venezio after you have uploaded them. If you require assistance with this or have any other questions, please feel free to see me.

Saturday – Mattress Fundraiser in the Cafeteria 10 AM – 5 PM
8th Period Percussion will meet on Tuesday (symphonic band only), Wednesday (orchestra only), Thursday 2:30 – 3:30 (to set the stage for the concert)
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Leadership Training Camp will be moved to Friday, May 27 from Noon to 8 PM. This will prevent it from interfering with the Memorial Day Holiday weekend.
