Hearing the crowd fill with applause and seeing amazing artists performing and winning awards that they worked hard for was a show to remmebr. Don’t forget the famous saying “And the winner is…”On Sunday February 10th 2019, the 61st Grammy Awards aired at 8:00pm EST. The show was incredible and all the artists that won earned their right, the amount of care and dedication they put in their work being evident. Very popular artists were there, such as Ariana Grande, Cardi B., Childish Gambino, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, BTS, H.E.R, Jennifer Lopez, and even an exclusive performance from the one and only Dolly Parton herself!

So many performances happened all in one night but there were many that stood out like Shawn Mendes and Miley Cyrus with “In My Blood”, Camila Cabello, Ricky Martin, J Balvin, Young Thug, and Arturo Sandoval. The hit song Havana played everywhere and even the host–Alicia Keys–played with the songs Killing Me Softly, Unforgettable, Use Somebody, and Empire State of Mind and even more! Each performance was unique and different, all of them representing the song and the artists’ personalities with the different settings, colors, and lighting. The stages really portrayed it better than the audience could have imagined.

Besides the performances, the main focus of the show was the awards. They had many different categories like “Best Album of the Year”, “Lifetime Achievement Award”, “Best R&B Album”, “Best Female Rap Artist and ect. One artist that had a really successful night at the Grammys was Ariana Grande. Grande came out on top by winning her first ever award for “Best Pop Vocal Album” for her album Sweetner. Another artist as you may know, Cardi B. won her first Grammy for “Best Rap Album” for her album Invasion of Privacy, in only a span of two years!

Although many people had a very great and successful night, a few of them did not. Mac Miller (who passed away on September 7th) was nominated for his album Swimming, for “Best Rap Album” and the producers invited his whole family to come and hopefully win an award. Unfortunetly, he did not win anything and that enraged Ariana Grande. She tweeted on twitter “ trash, literal bulls**t, bulls**t”. After all the backlash she received over Cardi winning instead of Mac Miller she ended up deleting the tweets.

So what will happen at the 62st Grammys? Tune in next year!
