Ending Phil Ziglar’s 23 year coaching career for Boone with a win, he had his last home game on Nov. 2 against Cypress Creek. The team celebrated senior night and won the game 42-21.

Starting the second quarter with a 55 yard kick return by senior Josh Green set up a one yard touchdown run for senior Michael Willet, giving the team a 21-7 lead.

Cypress Creek tied the game after scoring and recovering two consecutive onside kicks in the second quarter.

With less than two minutes in the half, senior Cody Grant recovered a fumble for the team. Senior Blake Williams threw a 28 yard pass to senior Devin Thomas to put the team at Cypress Creek’s 18 yard line, but Williams was intercepted on the next play.

In the third quarter, Green caught a 27 yard touchdown from Williams to pull ahead from the tie. Junior Brandon Reddick recovered a muffed punt, setting up a five yard touchdown pass from Williams to senior Blake Orvis.

After two key fourth down stops by the team’s defense and a one yard touchdown run from senior Travis Snethen, the team did not allow Cypress Creek to score in the second half.

The team’s last game will be away against rival Edgewater on Nov. 9 in an effort to earn the barrel back.
