With Christmas approaching, decorations are up, and musicians release their own version of Christmas classics.
The album under the microscope is Christmas With Scotty McCreery. By country artist Scotty McCreery features 11 songs which include classics like “Jingle Bells” and “Let It Snow.” The CD features two original compositions, “Christmas Comin’ Round Again” and “Mary Did You Know.”
With Christmas albums out in multitudes, McCreery has no trouble standing out, adding his own flare to classics and making the songs his own. The American Idol victor flaunts his baritone vocals so well that it would make Josh Turner envious.
McCreery’s original song entitled “Christmas Comin’ Round Again” combines a passionate chorus with great instrumental background that is reminiscent of country greats like Johnny Cash.
In all, the performance by McCreery is enough to give one chills. The writing is superb on the original tracks and it is great album to purchase to get in the mood of Christmas. It’s a great gift for family and friends to not only listen to bring out the spirit of Christmas, but to entertain friends at festivities.
