Last night, the Lady Braves (1-1) began the game against Winter Park (2-0) with missed shots. By the end of the first quarter, freshman Brittany Smith brought the score to 5-3 with a basket.

Winter Park pressed them hard with an aggressive playing style, but the Braves refused to crumble under the pressure. They continued to fight.

Freshman Cassady Quintana scored a 3-pointer and the Braves ended the second quarter, 11-23.

Sadie Desroches scored a beast basket and helped the girls enter the fourth quarter with high energy. Back-to-back fouls on junior Amanda Oliver and Smith paired with a basket by Smith and a second 3-pointer of the night by Quintana brought the score to 29-50.

To go out with a bang, sophomore Angeni Worley scored a nothing-but-net 3-pointer, ending the game 34-55.

Come out and support the Braves Friday at 6 p.m. for their next game against Apopka.
