At 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, the boys (2-1) and girls (2-1) tennis teams went racket to racket with Ocoee High School.

On the court, senior Meghan Cotton played line 1 for the girls and beating her opponent 8-0. Junior Ashlyn Gage played line 2 and also won 8-0. After Cotton and Gage, line 3 senior Camden Parrish and line 4 freshman Grace McCarey each won their singles matches 8-0 as well.

Following the girls singles matches, freshman Gracyn Lindborg and senior Mary Grace Burkett teamed up in a doubles match to win another 8-0 set and senior Camden Parrish and junior Ashlyn Gage kept the fire by scoring 8-0 to end the girls match.

In boys singles, sophomore Matthew Workman, representing line 1 lost to his competition 3-8 and line 2 junior Matthew Morgan lost 5-8. Later, line 4 freshman Parker Fluke won in a close match of 8-6 and line 5 sophomore Diego Salisbury finished 8-3.

Junior Matthew Morgan and sophomore Matthew Workman played doubles and lost 1-8.  Double team, senior Samuel Schiffer and junior Hueston Duff, pulled out a close win, 8-6.

At the end of the match, the girls tennis team achieved a clear win and the boys tennis team tallied their first loss.

Both teams will play another home match Tuesday against Freedom High School at 3:15 p.m.
