On Thursday night, Jan. 7, the Braves soccer team took down East River High School (4-8-3) at home, 5-3.

In the first half of the game, freshman Colin Gopaul scored the first goal of the evening, putting the Braves up 1-0. Soon after, senior Mark Bagozzi scored, making the score 2-0.

The first half ended 2-1, as the East River Falcons scored a goal.

During half time, the team celebrated the seven seniors on the team: Mark Bagozzi, Riley Bassett, Phillip Crowe, Nicolas Gonzalez, Garrett Hilado and Corey Smith

In the second half, sophomore Jonathan De Lucca scored two goals making it a 4-1 game. The boys’ score went up 5-1 when freshman Emmanuel Ramirez added a goal.

The Falcons retaliated with two goals of their own, but it wasn’t enough to take the win. 

The Senior Night victory put the Braves at 4-9-2 overall.

The boys’ next home game is against Lake Nona (4-8-2) on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at home at 7:30 p.m.
