On Monday night, March 7, the flag football team took on Dr. Phillips at home for the first game of the season.

Dr. Phillips started with a touchdown at the end of the first quarter, putting the Panthers 7 points ahead of the Lady Braves. Senior Emily Colvin scored the first touchdown, with senior Katy Nicholson scoring an extra point to tie the game.

Senior Amanda Oliver made an interception that led to another touchdown that brought the Braves into the lead before halftime, 13-7.

After halftime, Colvin scored another touchdown with sophomore Cassady Quintana scoring the extra point to make it a 20-7 game.

The Braves started the fourth quarter with a big lead, but towards the end of the game Dr. Phillips scored two touchdowns.

The tense game ended in a win for Boone with a close victory of 20-19. 

The Lady Braves will play Evans at Evans High School Wednesday, March 9, at 7 p.m.
