Before the lighting and thunder led to a rain out at North Shore Golf Course, the boys golf team (2-2) took on the Edgewater Eagles (1-1) at home.

The match began with senior Charles Eakins and junior Nicholas Bessire on team one, junior Mason Toben and sophomore Justin Davis on team two and sophomore Colin Smith and freshman Gavin Gigilio on team three.

Bessire and Eakins made par on the first hole. Smith birdied hole one and pared hole two, leading group three. Following, Toben and Gigilio hit par on hole three.

Davis finished with a 5 on hole four. Right before the rain began, Toben made par on the sixth hole.

In the rain, team one and two moved to hole six and seven. But as team three teed off hole four lightning struck putting the match on a 20 minute delay. The coaches eventually decide to call the match. Since every team did not finish five holes the match was deemed unofficial.

Before calling the match unofficial Bessire was two under par thru six holes. Eakins was one over par thru six holes, with five pars and one bogey.

The team will play the Dr. Phillips Panthers (2-5-1) at Bay Hill Golf Course, Sept. 26 at 3:30 p.m.
