Whether walking, jogging or running, everyone’s welcome to participate in the ninth annual Reservation Run on Feb. 11 at 7:30 a.m.

The proceeds support school sports teams, clubs and Revive the Tribe. When one registers fifty percent of the sign up fee goes to the club or sport program of choice. The other fifty percent goes to Revive the Tribe. The campus renovation initiative includes the addition of a new scoreboard, adding a rubber track, new field turf, a concession area bathrooms renovations and lights for the baseball fields. For those interested in registering, preregistration for students cost $20, and adults (over age 20) cost $25. The day of the race registration for students costs $25 and adults costs $30. With 658 attendees at the eighth annual run, BHSSA hopes this one grows to 800 participants.

“As cheesy as it may sound the Reservation Run brings people together. All sports join together, families of the community, teachers, parents and friends. Many sports benefit from the funds and it’s pretty fun when you’re running with your friends,” track and field athlete, sophomore, Yvonne Aime said. “I’m most excited for a new track. No more shin splints and the lanes don’t merge into each other. It makes me extremely happy to think about holding home track meets. Even though the seniors are a little mad that they have to leave before running on a new track, I know I’m super excited.”

Other opportunities offered include medals for top finishers, bragging rights, and the ability to spend time with friends and family. T-shirts included for the first 700 paid entrants, but they cannot guarantee shirts.

“It’s a great fundraiser for clubs and sports. It’s a great community get together. We’ve had people coming for nine years; it’s definitely a fun run versus a more competitive,” Athletics Director Kevin Demer said. “It gets friends and family out, and it’s an easy and fun way to donate.”

Hey! I'm Tiffani Rasberry. I'm a first year, online staffer for Boone Pubs. I’m usually the mom of the friend group. If I could travel, there is no exact place I would travel to, I just want to travel the world because it's a beautiful thing most people take for granted. My favorite things to do include watching football, drinking hot chocolate and going trying new resturants, cafes or diners.
