I know some of you are wondering how you can get orchestra videos to me!
There are several ways to do this.
Upload your video from your phone or computer. Check the privacy settings and click “Unlisted.” On the main page of your video you should see a link to the page that you can paste in an email and send to email@example.com.
After you have uploaded your video to the dropbox folder. On your phone go to the file you wish to send, share it to email, and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Google Drive – THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER TWO.
This is similar to Dropbox except that you will need to make sure that the security are such that anyone with the link can view the video! OR you can share the video with COLMSOrchestra@gmail.com. If you have a gmail account, you have a Google Drive!
Please submit videos ONLY in one of those three ways. Any video attachments that come to my OCPS email will be deleted immediately. If you have any questions please free to email me!

Welcome to the Chain of Lakes Orchestra page. I’m excited to be started a fantastic new year with the Chain of Lakes Orchestra. This year, the orchestra program has EXPLODED! We currently have approximately 290 students scheduled for orchestra. This is incredible!
If you would like to know where to get started, please take a look at our Orchestra Handbook. This will provide you with all the information you need for your child to be successful in orchestra. The online handbook agreement can be found here. This must be completed by Friday, August 28th, 2015.
We are also going paperless! All other required forms that are due throughout the year can be found here.
If you child is interested in becoming an orchestra officer, the application can be found here or on the student forms page. This application is due Monday, August 31st, 2015.

Below are the requirements and music if you are planning to Audition for All-State Orchestra in September. Studying this music with a private teacher is HIGHLY encouraged. Registration for the auditions will take place the first week of school.

Don’t forgot call time is 5:30PM! Beginners, you will all be getting your polos tomorrow! If you paid fairshare, you will also be getting your t-shirt! I’m so excited for tomorrow!
Also, if you are going on the field trip, be there at 7AM! Wear your orchestra t-shirt or a green t-shirt!!!
It is time to start thinking about the end of the year band and orchestra trip. We will be going to Busch Gardens,Tampa Bay on Saturday May23rd. The bus will leave Chain of Lakes Middle School at 7am and will returnapproximately 7:30 pm.
Students will need to be picked up NO LATER than 8:00pm.
For our students to attend this trip we must have a four to one student to chaperone ratio. At this point we are basing the trip cost off of 160 attending students.
We will need 40 adult chaperones. All chaperones must have filled out the on-line chaperone application for the current school year on the Orange County Public Schools Volunteer application site at volunteer.ocps.net. ChaperonesMUST be a PARENT or LEGAL GUARDIAN. You will not be able to bring any other siblings with you on this trip as it could be a distraction from your duty of watching our students. It is suggested that your student bring $20 for the day for food and drinks.
* The trip attendance is first come first serve! The first 160 students to return all of the required items will have their seat reserved.
*BAND students must have 100 or more attitude points to attend.
*ORCHESTRA student must meet all criteria outlined in the extra-curricular code to attend.
*Payments in cash or check will not be accepted and refunds will not be approved.

*Students must turn in a copy of their Busch Gardens Annual Pass to Mr. Olsen along with their two page permission slip.

Lake Nona High School’s production of West Side Story is this weekend! Mr. Gonzalez is performing lead violin in the orchestra pit.
There are 3 shows:

What a great semester it has been! Chamber, Symphonic, and Overture Orchestras all brought back Overall Superiors from our District MPA this year!
We also have a concert coming up on Friday, May 22nd, 2015 at 6:30PM. It will take place at Chain of Lakes Middle School.
We will also be having after school rehearsals as our Symphonic Orchestra joins our Full Orchestra Winds and we perform as the Chain of Lakes Symphony Orchestra. In order to put together a performance of such large scale (over 70 musicians!) we will be having several before and after school rehearsals.
