4th Grade

Orff Kids

We have been reviewing our recorder notes and learning to read standard musical notation. We are also working on learning to play Ukulele. We have learned the string names, how the frets work, and how to play a C chord. We are trying to expand to an F chord, but this is a bit of a quantum leap. We will learn to traditional Hebrew dance, Zemer Atik and create speech rhythm patterns of winter celebrations – Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Los Posadas, Christmas with body percussion and possibly unpitched percussion instruments. If the students are ready we may even try our hand at “Feliz Navidad” on the Ukulele.
