Handwriting…Help!!! Letters and Numbers!
ALL Links are LIVE at Mrs. Crocker’s Website! http://teacherpress.ocps.net/peggycrocker/
(Click on the link or if that doesn’t work, click CTRL and then the link.)
Most letters begin at the top and move down. ALWAYS WATCH as your child forms the letters! IF you choose a handwriting workbook for your child, look for one that has the numbered directional arrows next to each letter!
ABC Mouse models the correct letter formation. But YOU need to watch your child trace the letter correctly as the program DOESN’T monitor mistakes!

Math! – What’s a ten Frame and How do I use it? What is subitizing??? (Soo-bi-tie-zing)
Kindergarten math has more focus on number sense and problem solving. We use tools such as the 100 Number Grid and ten-frames with counters. And there are relatively new concepts to consider such as SUBITIZING! Subitizing is the ability to quickly identify the number of items in a small set without counting. Researchers have demonstrated a strong relationship between subitizing skill and overall achievement in math.
