Please remember to return your child’s report card envelope on Monday. You can keep the actual report card paper, but the back of the envelope needs to be signed and returned. Thank you!
I received an email about an interesting summer camp that I thought I would pass along to those of you looking for a way to challenge your child this summer and build those important higher order thinking skills. This is what the email said:
“MASA (Math, Arts, and Science Achievement), a Center for High Achieving and Talented Youth is a program that started 6 years ago at Winter Park, Florida. It provides opportunities for high achieving and gifted students to be in a comfortable and safe environment with like-minded peers to; comprehend, apply, explore, analyze, discover, and evaluate concepts while motivating one another. The organization also provides an environment where high achieving and gifted students can challenge themselves and exercise their critical thinking skills by using higher order thinking. It nurtures the unique needs of every student while encouraging the development of our future scientists, mathematicians, writers, and thinkers to delve deeper and reach their true potential.”

Last week I introduced another one of the 7 Habits of Happy Kids: Habit #6: Synergize! This habit focuses on the idea of “together is better” and using each person’s talents to achieve a common goal. I have to say, our class family already does an amazing job exemplifying this habit, which is one of the things I love the most about them!
