This week we are wrapping up our various units and finishing the marking period, so there is no Homework Log or Fridge Notes.

Don’t forget, Snowman Book Reports are due this Tuesday, December 19th.

We will NOT have spelling words or a Cold Read, but we will be reviewing on Monday  for the Chapter 6 math test (3-Digit Addition and Subtraction) on Tuesday.

The 2nd grade winter party is this Wednesday, December 20th  from 12:45-1:45. Our room parents have been working hard to plan a fun party for the kids. Please mark the date on your calendar and come celebrate with us!

Our Student Council is starting a new philanthropy that will run for three weeks.  We will be raising money for an organization called Pennies for Patients.  All of the money collected will go towards The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) mission to cure blood cancers and improve the lives of patients and their families. On Friday, every student received an information sheet and a small coin box to bring their collected money to school in.  The coin boxes can be filled with donations of any amount (pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollar bills). You can also donate online to our class fundraising page: http://events.lls.org/pages/ncfl/Bay-Meadows-Elementary-School-2018/SMcBride Our school goal is to reach $750.  If we reach our school goal of $750, the top class who raised the most money will have an Olive Garden Pasta Party!

Winter break begins Friday, December 22nd.  We return to school on Monday, January 8th. See you in 2018!
