On Friday, your child brought home a NON-FICTION Turkey Book Report this week. Please help your child pick an informational book on his/her level to read for the report. The report looks like a turkey, but your child may select any informational topic (airplanes, planets, weather, etc.). Please also make sure that your child is completing the book report with 100% effort, which includes complete sentences with appropriate capitalization and punctuation. Encourage your child to “sell” the book to their classmates by including interesting, important facts. The book report is due Friday, November 17th. We usually give the entire month for book reports, but November just slipped away from us!

Last week, I introduced another one of the 7 Habits of Happy Kids: Habit #3: Put First Things First! We discussed the negative effects of procrastination and how we should work first and then play. This habit will come in extra handy during those times when your child wants to put off homework or a project.
