One Team, Multiple Meanings

The Majorette team is a fun experience at Timber Creek High School. You get to know each other in ways you least expect to. The Majorette team is a nice way to make new memories and you can also have fun doing so.

Team captain and senior Caitlyn Grimes joined the Majorette team because she always dreamed of being on the team at Timber Creek High School. Grimes looked up to the high school teams when she was in elementary school. “I joined the majorette team because I’ve been twirling since I was 5 years old, and being a Timber Creek Majorette has always been a goal of mine,” said Grimes.

Senior Jenna Stewart wanted to join the Majorette team because she wanted to show school spirit at Timber Creek High School. “I wanted to bring my school spirit,” said Stewart. Junior Kalena Cope joined the Majorette team because she was looking for a school extracurricular. “I was already twirling and wanted to bring it to the school,” said Cope.

Being a part of the Majorette team can bring you good experiences. Grimes stated “My experience has been full of nothing but good memories and lots of fun,” said Grimes. “I have performed at numerous pep rallies, basketball games, football games, and other community events, and each one is even better than the last,” said Grimes.

The Majorette team is a great way to relax and calm yourself. “I like being a majorette because it’s a great way to make friends and be on a team without having too much stress,” said Stewart. Being a majorette is a fun thing to join. “I like being a majorette because it is fun and feels like you are with people you can trust and stay friends with for a long time,” said Cope.

People at Timber Creek should join the Majorette team. Grimes stated “I will always recommend joining the team! Anyone can join, and experience is not needed,” said Grimes. Baton twirling isn’t as hard as you think. Grimes stated “Baton twirling is easier than it seems! There are so many people who can help you learn more and become stronger in the sport, and there are plenty of opportunities to continue to grow no matter how hard it may seem,” said Grimes.

You can have very lovely experiences being on the majorette team. “The majorettes are very nice and welcoming to new members,” said Stewart. The majorette team is very friendly. “My experience has been great everyone is very friendly and fun to be around,” said Cope.

The Majorette team does a lot. Grimes stated “The majorettes actually compete in many state, regional, and national competitions,” said Grimes. The Majorette team has unexpected moments. “Most of our team bonding moments end up being unplanned. We’ll go out to eat after some performances just because we’re inspired to go somewhere, or we’ll get together to have our own practice time outside of our normal schedule and have more fun than we thought we would,” said Grimes.
