TC Cafeteria gets an update

The TCHS Cafeteria was overhauled this summer, complete with new rolling sitting booths and a renovated eating area. Construction began at the start of June this year and finished by the end of the month, ready early for the new school year and extracurriculars to start. The building kept its original arrangement, but new circular tables have been introduced, adding a purple and black flair to the rest of the area. In addition to the seating arrangements, the walls and pillars were repainted in our traditional purple and black featuring a multitude of TC pride designs plastered on the walls. New food line borders were also put in place to better manage the daily horde of lunch-goers.

Most students are very enthusiastic about about the rejuvenated cafeteria. Over the summer break, extracurricular activities got their first glimpses of the building, and social media blew up with support and interest in the project. Many suggest the new seating arrangements are the cause for the increased use, with the booths and higher seats being the most popular among the student body in both lunches. Maybe the refresh is simply more aesthetically pleasing, or it could also be the attractiveness of eating in air-conditioned bliss.

The student body appreciates the changes greatly. SGA member Josh Morales said the previous design was “just too plain, there was nothing unique about it. It was indistinguishable from other schools.” He now praises the up-to-date design saying, “It’s unique, modern, beautiful, and it’s all ours.”
