Timber Creek Bowling

Timber Creek has many sports to choose from. Those can include football, basketball, soccer, and many more. But one of the most overlooked sports would be bowling. When people think about a sport, bowling will most likely not cross their minds, but it can be just as athletic as any other sport. Our highschool team of both boys and girls is one of the many in the county. So what exactly is it like to be on the team?

One of the team members from the 2019 season, Joshua Bauder (sophomore), gave insight on what it’s like being part of the team. “The bowling team is a very special experience. It is like being a part of your own little community and family with a common interest.” The “special experience” that is claimed by Bauder is created by the friendly atmosphere from the team and coaches. “While practicing, coaches give you assistance on what to do, and that really helped me grow as a bowler and improve myself,” Bauder said. Given the chance to get help, Bauder has grown from a 100 average to a 140 average in very little time, and his scores will only improve from here.

Junior Drew Bronson has always been verbal with his experiences with the team. He stated, “The bowling team gives me the opportunity to do what I love with my friends. Bowling helps me let out my emotions in a way that I never could before, and having my friends at my side makes it even more special to me. One of my favorite parts of being on the team is the competition. Having the want to be better than my opponents gives me a reason to improve.”

The bowling team gives students a chance to make new friends and do something they love. It can help them be more comfortable under stress and accept change. Both Bronson and Bauder represent and recommend joining it, and I believe that every other person on the team would do the same.
