On Tuesday February 7th at 6:00pm the choir program is hosting a pre-MPA concert to help students prepare for their upcoming MPA competition. The event will be approximately an hour and it will feature competition pieces from Combined Women, Men’s, Bella Voce, Advanced Women’s, Concert, and Madrigal ensembles. The event is free although donations will be collected for the actual MPA event. MPA is a district vocal competition in which ensembles are evaluated based on sight reading and composition performance. The event will be held at Timber Creek on February 22nd. The Timber Creek Choir Program is offering concessions for all participants of MPA; thus attendants to the pre-MPA concert are encouraged to bring bottled water, candy, and any other snacks as long as they don’t contain peanuts.
As the day of the concert is rapidly approaching, students work hard to master their music and memorize their lyrics. Mrs. Cook and Mr. Roy, the TCHS choir directors, anxiously await the big day. They commented: the concert is about learning what needs polishing and giving students a chance to perform with an audience. Perfection cannot be achieved without practice. There is always something we can do to improve.
Come out and support all choir ensembles at the pre-MPA concert!
