Every year the senior class spends a period of time stressing over college applications. We stress over writing countless application essays, paying fees, and meeting deadlines. With all of these things pilling on top of us along with school itself, it may be hard to find a way to cope. We asked the students of Timber Creek what they struggle most with and this is what they said.
When I asked a couple of students the majority of people said the most stressful thing about college applications is meeting the deadlines and paying for the applications themselves. “It’s stressful having to pay for all of the applications because senior year is already expensive as it is.” said Samantha Ponce. This is something that is a very common struggle among seniors which is understandable due to all of the things that senior year entails. For example there is senior homecoming and prom, senior pictures, senior gradbash, cap and gown payments and many more things on top of college applications. Another thing students struggle with is meeting the deadlines. “The thing I stress most about it meeting all of the deadlines on time that way I can know where I’m going well before graduation.” said Cameron Harris. When applying to colleges you typically want to meet the first deadline that way you get your decision as soon as possible.
The main way you can handle with these issue is planning ahead. If you go into senior year without a plan on how to handle everything you and quickly start to feel like you’re drowning in work and deadlines. You can plan your own personal deadlines for applications that way you can ensure that you will meet the deadline. Also you can save up money before senior year roles around that way you know you’ll have enough money to pay for everything and you won’t have to stress over paying things once the time comes.
