The Avalon Park farmer’s market opened it’s doors (or tents, rather) to the community last Saturday afternoon, prompting a few of Timber Creek’s own to attend the event to browse the selection of items East Orlando’s small businesses had to offer.
“I am glad I came [to the farmer’s market] today,” said Timber Creek Senior Brandon Garcia. “I bought a lot of stuff I can’t wait to delve into when I get home.”
There were many unique purchases to be made at the market, which took place at Founder’s Square in Downtown Avalon. Locals who set up shop had many artifacts to offer, from handmade clothing to dog collars, to raw honey. For Junior Emily Howell, she was happy to have found a nice dress. “I love the tropical colors,” she said as she flaunted a beautiful tie-dye dress decked with different blues, reds, yellows, and greens she purchased at the event.
Some did not find what they would’ve liked at the market, however. As was such for Sophomore Gabriel Velicu, who complained about the lack of poultry at the event. “I wanted to buy some chicken,” said Velicu, “I was pretty disappointed to find they didn’t have any.” Velicu didn’t consider this a burden to the entire experience, however, saying, “the [farmer’s market] has been pretty cool besides that.”
Given the rave reviews the market got this time around, consumers can expect the next one to be both bigger and better than the last. Better start saving up, Wolves!
