SGA participated in a state convention on March 1-4. They received third place in a state project category out of 319 entries and were also awarded a medallion as a Gold Medal Council for the amount of projects and service they do. They scored 191 and submitted over 200 pieces of evidence.
Students also ran two workshops. One was on the effective traits of a leader. The other was on effective communication in a group.
Additionally, two of the 15 resolutions passed at the state level were drafted by Timber Creek students. Senior Amanda Packard authored a document that stated “repeat DUI offenders should have breathalyzers installed in the cars.” Also, senior John Hutchison authored another resolution, meant to “increase the tax on cigarettes to deter smoking and increase state funds.”
