One of the biggest achievements for millions of people is being able to graduate from high school. Especially since there are many people who do not have the luxury to attend school and work for a greater education. Poverty, lack of transportation, and other personal issues may be the reason that some people are not able to attend school. Attending school is an immense privilege that is deserving of a celebration once someone has graduated. Now that high school is out of the way, it’s time to talk about the various possibilities and outcomes that a student may choose to take after graduating high school.
After high school, there may be some students looking to not go to college for four or more years because learning in a closed environment is not beneficial for everyone. There will be some students who will decide to attend a college for two years in order to get their associates of Science degree. This degree will allow students to begin a career as soon as they finish their required credit hours that can be done within two years. A couple of example majors for this degree would be Accounting Technology, Human Resource Management Specialist, and even Baking and Pastry Management. This option is not for every student and it is one of the many various possibilities that a student can achieve after graduating high school.
Other students may have been dreaming of attending a college that will allow them to graduate with a bachelor’s degree instead. Valencia community college even gives their students the ability to transfer straight into UCF (University of Central Florida) to pursue their bachelor degrees. A Timber Creek senior named Sebastion Cardona plans to attend Valencia and then transfer to UCF to earn his bachelor’s degree. Cardona said, “ I’m attending Valencia because I’ll be able to save money before earning my associates degree and then transferring to UCF. Since Valencia has a direct connection to UCF, it’ll make things easier for me to transfer my credits and begin attending UCF.” Attending a community college and then transferring to a four year university is a popular option because it helps students gain an education while saving money that they can use for bills or other personal expenses.
Of course, college is not for everyone and many people have created successful futures without attending a college. There are a ton of high paying jobs that do not require individuals to have a college degree, but most will still have those individuals take a training course of some kind for the job. Air conditioning and refrigeration installers, along with operating engineers, firefighters, and even flight attendants are some examples of high paying jobs that require no college degrees. Regardless of how a student wants to spend their time after graduating high school, there are plenty of resources and information online that can help students to plan out and accomplish their future goals.
