This past weekend, a group of SGA students spent their time off in Boca Raton at the SGA annual state conference. Senior Alex Rutledge lead his last conference as the FASC state president before turning over the reigns to the succeeding president concluding the year’s SGA state project which focused on collecting canned foods for victims of Hurricane Michael. Senior Jen Lozano “it was nice to be able to see what we accomplished throughout the year” and how interesting it was to watch the next group of officers come up.

The weekend consisted of a jam-packed schedule which included resolutions meetings, new law proposals, and some team building activities at the convention.  Junior Lydia Kesler’s favorite part of the weekend was a choral performance by a special needs group and how it showed that while all of these schools are competing against each other, they can all unite and become one.

Overall, the students had a great time participating in the activities that took place and being able to come together as a school and state one last time this year. Multiple schools from different areas are able to come together for this convention, Jen Lozano also states that “it was cool being president school” as Timber Creek was able to host many of the events.
