Every time New Years Day comes around, we have a new resolution set in mind. However, life happens, and it’s three weeks into January, and probably haven’t even went through with this “resolution” for an entire day.
We all know how this goes. Around the end of December, our minds are consumed with the goal of forcing ourselves into a new life style, beginning when the clock strikes 12 on the 31st.
Usually , teens are confident about being stone cold with their resolutions, until Winter Break is over. Then the AP classes start crashing down on you, and the infamous line,”I’ll just start tomorrow,” comes into mind. This is the point that eventually drive you to feel like you’ll never get your resolution done.
I feel that there is one important key to achieving your New Year goal: you don’t.
Expecting to quickly change months- or even years of your bad habits (only because it is new year) is crazy. In doing so , you are definitely biting off more than you could chew ( which is not good for those trying to go on a diet)
Big life changes, whether they revolve around one’s behavior, health,or grades–they should all be done in moderation.
We shouldn’t be so hung up on a stupid New Years resolution; there are more important things to worry about. As my mom would say: make it a life style choice, honey.
In the end , what matters is how happy you are with yourself. I think before making changes , one should make a resolution to accept themselves first.
