By Kaycie Ramsey

Winter is rolling around meaning the dance programs winter showcase is coming up again. February 27th is the planned date for the 2020 and many of the different classes a part of the dance program are starting to get ready for the performance.  This Showcase is to show the progress of each of the dancers in their classes. Not only the high schoolers are being shown in the spotlight but also some of middle and elementary school students perform at the winter showcase to show their progress as well.

The Winter Showcase is put together by Mrs. Tara Perry who runs all of the dance program. The show is free and is welcome to all and not just family of the dancers. dance programs from Camelot Elementary, Corner Lake Middle School, and University High are usually the younger schools that participate in the Winter Showcase. All of the younger kids a part of the winter showcase including our very own wolf pups are always a focal point every year for the showcase. To buy tickets you can go to the https://teachtix.com/ and find the TCHS Winter showcase.

The students a part of the showcase learn the dances in their Elective classes and get ready to perform by the day of the show. Many of the dancers are almost finished and prepared for the showcase and are just now working on their final touches. Some of the teams are also starting to choreograph their senior pieces for the showcase which are the pieces seniors create to be performed for their last year as a part of the program.

Every year for the showcase all technique classes all have at least one dance and all join together in the end for a big finale performance. All of the classes can’t wait. Grace Cianciotto says that she is “excited to perform along with her friends.” So everyone should come show up to the winter showcase this year to support the dance program and all of the students a part of the program.
