Junior Bret Neilan was named the most valuable pitcher at the 18-team Florida League High School Invitational Classic tournament two weeks ago. With 32 shutout innings in a row, Neilan has helped lead his team to multiple victories and has even hit two home runs. Coach Tim Beaman said, “Up to this point he is having one of the best baseball seasons I have seen out of a high school kid.”
The baseball team finishes up its district schedule at University on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Their record up to this point is 4-2.
