Timber Creek places in top four at Latin regionals

This weekend Timber Creek sent 18 students to Regional Latin Forum to compete with all the schools in our region (Mostly Orange and Seminole county), both public and private. 10 returned victorious bearing spoils in 15 different categories.

The results are as follows:

Tanya Martin- 2^nd in Drawing; 4^th in Advanced Derivatives

Katie Pierce (1^st time forum attendee)- 2^nd in Classical Art Level 2

Sabrina Warren- 4^th in Advanced Prose Dramatic Interpretation

Kendyll Sumler- 3^rd in Painting; 4^th in Geography Advanced

Stefania Montero (1^st time forum attendee)- 5^th Painting

Hans Empeynado (1^st time forum attendee)- 4^th in Customs Level I

Ishmael Perez- 4^th in Advanced Customs; 5^th in Advanced Grammar; 3^rd in the Heptathlon (a rigorous test that can include anything from the classical world)

Hayden Mashburn- 4^th Advanced Grammar; 5^th in the Heptathlon

Alex Aviles- 2^nd in Advanced Reading Comprehension

And finally, our advanced Certamen (an extremely challenging Latin Quiz Bowl game) team took 4^th in the Region and brought home a rather large trophy for our classroom. The team was: Tanya Martin, Hayden Mashburn, Ishmael Perez, and Mikki Von Schaumburg.
