On January 15, the East River JV and Varsity wrestling teams faced off against Cocoa High School. At this one-on-one meet every weight class had one match. The Falcons ended the night with a victory. “We did show up, we did work hard. However, I do feel like we lacked a little bit of passion,” Anthony Gilbert, assistant boys wrestling coach, said. With this meet behind them, the team has high expectations for the rest of the season. “Our goal for the season is to place high in the districts, place for regions, hopefully to qualify for the state tournament,” Gilbert said.
