Chorus

The American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) selected 85 different schools in eight states to perform at the ACDA Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. University High School’s Concert Choir was selected to perform with 18 other schools and spend four days together for their trip on February 21st to the 24th.

After lots of fundraising for the expensive trip, the choir hopped on a bus for 16 hours to and fro Kentucky and had the time of their lives.

On their first day, the long trip there tired them out and the choir spend the night at their reserved hotel.

Day two was full of rehearsals for the upcoming performance and the choir got to see other schools perform as well. Later that evening, the squad explored the sights and scenes around downtown.

On the 23rd, the choir rehearsed in the morning and performed splendidly at the Kentucky Center of the Arts. After their performance, they feasted at The Spaghetti Factory.

But the performance wasn’t the only event planned on the trip. As a celebration, the group when ziplining at Mega Cavern and Ziplining.

“Ziplining was really fun,” said Senior Kelly Fernandez. “After stressing over the performance, we really go to unwind with a little thrill.”

On the 24th, the group headed home to Orlando after ziplining and enjoyed their time together.

“I enjoyed being with my choir for those past days,” said senior Gabrielle Santos. “They are like a family.”
