Every year at UHS, students are constantly adjusting to new changes as with each school year there is something new. The bell schedule is something that has changed twice in the past two years with a third change for the year to come.
Last year’s schedule allowed students to leave campus at 2:16 pm. This year the schedule was changed to have students leave at 1:51 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. However, on Wednesdays students are allowed to leave as early as 1:05 pm.
As of late, rumors have spread between students and teachers alike of a possible schedule change for the next year.
UHS Principal, Dr. Carcara, addressed these rumors, “Yes, they are changing. The district is going for a uniform schedule.”
The district’s office have agreed to make the decision for this change, and they were not going to wait longer than a year to apply what they believe will be a more structural change for the students.
Freshman Carlos Rivera shares his thoughts on the decision, “I don’t mind these changes. I am fine with whatever they think is the best for us.”
Along with these changes arriving soon, all students and others who visit UHS on a regular basis will have to do things differently, and they will be required to adapt to the new school year.
