GT celebrates with end of the year banquet

Global Technologies, also known as GT, is a magnet program revolved around engineering-based classes that offers rigorous requirements to prepare students for a college and career in the technology field.

GT has recently announced a banquet to honor its students’ hard work and determination through the time dedicated to the course. The banquet took place on May 14th at 6pm, and was at the Holiday Inn at the corner of 50 and Alafaya. Students had the ability to RSVP 2 guests of their choice for $20 per guest, but had to pay their dues first before RSVPing for the banquet. Students could also email personal pictures of themselves in GT for the slideshow presentation at the banquet.

Why was the Global Technologies banquet organized in the first place? “We have always had a GT banquet since the beginning,” responded Mr. Roman, an administrator of the GT program. “This time, we did it outside of school. We do it because we care about the students and we want them to have a good time and be rewarded for their work,”

Mr Roman also mentioned the awards that were given to the students. “The students were rewarded various and different scholarships. This includes 3 scholarships from NAF (National Academy Foundation), 2 from GT, and 1 from NCS (National Center for Simulation). The pre-engineering students also received their plaque,” “The NAF scholarships were given to Francesca Littlejohn and Bruce Bernardo, the GT scholarships were given to Ami Smart and Jayden Mohun, and the NCS scholarship was given to Jose Valdespino,” he noted.
