Welcome back to the pond! I hope you had a restful and fun break.

This quarter our focus will be oceanography. We started off with assessing their ocean knowledge by putting it under our Background Knowledge Umbrella. It was interesting to see what the right and wrong facts were. So far we have talked about how many oceans that our planet has. Do you know? The earth currently has 5 bodies of water that are now classify as oceans Atlantic, Pacific, Artic, Indian, and the newest one is the Southern between Australia and the Antarctic.How many layers or zones does the ocean have? Also 5 can you name them ? Ask your child for help. We did an experiment using different density type liquids to show the different layers. Fun but messy! Check out all the learning that is happening in the pond!
