Welcome to this week’s edition of High Notes.  Each week, HIGH NOTES will bring you the most important information that you need to know so that you can stay “in the know” about everything happening in the band program.

Congratulations to the Falcon Vanguard for a fantastic debut performance! Our pre-game show was awesome and really got the crowd ready for the game. Being in the bleachers for the first time in a number of years was super fun and gave us the ability to really support our team. Halftime was well done and well received by the audience. Our demeanor and pride showed throughout the game and we definitely stepped up our game!  All of this on the heels of the Johnny’s House performance that had us all at school way too early!!

I would also like to shout out our AMAZING band parent staff. For as much work as our students put in, our parent volunteers pour themselves out day in and out to ensure that this band program is successful. From concessions to chaperoning, pit crew to uniforms and everything in between, band parents make it all work. Thank you to each mom and dad who played a part in our success this week. We appreciate you all!

CORPORATE SPONSORS: If you wish to help us obtain corporate sponsors, please use the link on Band Central Station to get the packet. A 10% scholarship from each corporate sponsor will be awarded to the student who signs up the sponsor!

ALL-STATE BAND: All-State Band fees of $15 per audition are due now for those students auditioning.

BAND FEES: The Intent to March payment and summer instrument rental payments are past due.  Our second band fee payment of $100 was due on August 19 and that one also now past due. Please be sure to remit these ASAP.

ATHLETIC CLEARANCE: If you have not been cleared through Athletic Clearance, I will be making calls home. At this point, there are no excuses why you should still be out of compliance. See me if you need help or if there is a problem you cannot resolve.

BAND FORMS – VERY IMPORTANT: All band forms are past due.  Please remit them NOW.  You will NOT be permitted on the away trip this week without all of your band paperwork completed and turned in.   If you have not done this yet, stop reading this right now and get it done. You can come back to this when you have finished your paperwork. Seriously, you will NOT get on a bus Friday without all of this done.

CONCESSION/CHAPERONE OPPORTUNITIES: If you are interested in chaperoning or working the concession stand, you must be approved through ADDitions. There is a link to this on Band Central Station. We still have available spots for both so please visit Charms and sign-up to help!  Also, parents who ordered parent polos and t-shirts should receive those this week.

JAZZ ENSEMBLE SHIRTS: The $40 payment for your Jazz Ensemble shirt is now past due.  Please remit this ASAP so we can place the order for these.

WASHINGTON D.C. TRIP: The band and orchestra are planning to take a trip to Washington,

DC to perform and share an educational experience together. We will travel from March 9 – March 13 and the total cost of the trip is $925 per student. You can declare your interest by following the link on the Band App. Deadline to pay your trip deposit is September 15th.
