If you could just find a shortcut, you wouldn’t be stuck in I-4 traffic! I like when it moves quickly so I can get where I need to go.
But when one car stops, everything stops! ARGH!
Parents – don’t you like to take a shortcut to get places faster? These fluency strategies are like shortcuts- they help you think more fluently when reading or doing Math problems. When a child is reading and becomes stuck on one word, they are like the car stuck in traffic looking for a shortcut out of the problem.
