    This upcoming Halloween, Thursday Oct. 31, Timber Creek students are invited to participate in the annual Literary Character Day. Students dress up as their favorite book characters, from Harry Potter to Katniss Everdeen, and compete for a chance to win prizes for Best Dressed. Past winners have been from both classic literature to modern Young Adult Fiction.

   Students are required to bring their character’s book with them to school on Halloween, and all costumes must be in dress code, whether they be homemade or  bought from a store. Masks are also banned. All characters must be from novels, and not be from children’s books, movies, or plays.

   All participating students should report to the courtyard at the beginning of 3rd period on the day of the event, with their books. Eahc student will be entered into the contest for various grand prizes, and all participants will receive candy and extra credit in their English classes.
