Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve is a staple in most homes on Dec.31, with well loved host Ryan Seacrest and co-host Jenny McCarthy it was yet another hit. This one among many other New Year’s Eve ball drop shows has to be the most entertaining.

Current and loved artists perform every year. This year’s show like previous have performances streamed from the “Billboard Hollywood Party” hosted by Fergie. As a host she was lively and interactive with the crowd, and when she performed “L.A. Love” her enthusiasm was contagious and had me singing along.

Along with Fergie One Direction sang four songs: “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Story Of My Life,” “Steal My Girl,” and “Night Changes.” I am not a big One Direction fan, but I have to admit, they did give an entertaining performance. Perhaps it was over kill to sing four songs. However Charli XCX is a very lively performer and I like her as an artist. She sang “Boom Clap,” which was predictable, but she also sang, “Break the Rules” which is a personal favorite of mine. Bastille performed “Pompeii” and “Of the Night.” I thought these performances were pretty boring in comparison to Charli XCX and One Direction.

My favorite performances of the night came from Times Square. Florida Georgia Line, who sang, “Cruise,” “This is How We Roll,” and “Sun Daze.” “This is How We Roll” is my personal favorite, and I loved watching them perform it live. My other favorite, Taylor Swift who sang “Shake it Off,” and “Welcome to New York.” Taylor just received the first ever Dick Clarks award of Excellence at the most recent American Music Awards (AMA’s). She really honored that award on his show that night.

Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy were excellent hosts. McCarthy was down on the streets most of the night being interactive with the crowd, and even helped with two marriage proposals throughout the night. All in all these New Years Eve performances were pretty “rockin”.
