Musical December

Timber Creek Music Program Performs Annual Prism Concert

Every December, the Timber Creek Music Program has a Christmas concert called Prism, where they all perform Christmas themed songs, productions, and music. The concert consist of the Timber Creek chorus, orchestra, musical theatre, band, jazz band, dance, and color guard. This year, the concert consist of a whopping 700 students all on one stage. Prism is such a big deal, it’s currently sold out both nights.

Since the concert is sold out both nights, it can be very overwhelming for some. Sophomore Hannah Mai is performing with the orchestra program at prism for her first year. “Since this is my first prism show, I am very nervous, but I’m also extremely excited to perform,” said Mai. Even with some people having first show jitters, all the programs are very prepared for the concert. Orchestra, for example, has gone over the logistics of the concerts many times. “We’ve been going over the song we are performing at Prism many times,” Mai explained, “And we have rehearsed how the show is going to run.”

Others aren’t as nervous about the big concert since they have done it before years prior. Sophomore Katelyn Remboldt is a part of the chorus performance and this is her second year performing. “Last year’s concert was really cool,” stated Remboldt, “there was a lot of people so it was kind of crowded.” Like orchestra, chorus has done a lot to prepare for this concert as well. They have had to learn and memorize multiple songs at home as well as during the school day for the past couple months leading up to this concert. Remboldt also added, “Some days we have had to even stay after school to practice since there is so much to learn and we have to work with the other chorus classes for combined songs.”

As we can see, all the students performing have put a lot of time and effort into this concert. The Prism concert will be on Friday, December 14th at 7pm and Saturday, December 15th at 7pm. Currently, both nights are sold out online, but standby tickets will be available outside the door. Good luck to all the Timber Creek performing arts students!
