Homecoming Attire
By Karsyn Reekie
Homecoming at Timber Creek is such a huge event that everyone looks forward to. The process of getting ready, picking out your outfit, doing your makeup, picking shoes and going with friends or a date is so much fun. Homecoming the past years has been hard rock at Universal. The theme for this year’s homecoming was a night in city lights which is based on different cities from around the world. The decorations in the hallways around the school and at homecoming were all designed based on different cities.
Getting ready for homecoming starts by choosing an outfit most people either shop for their outfits online or in store. The most popular online store is Lucy in the Sky for dresses for girls. Chloe Joyce said, “My homecoming dress this year was from Lucy in the Sky was blue with sparkles.” This year ordering from Lucy in the Sky may have caused some people problems due to a back order in all of the dresses. Multiple people were not going to get their dress in time and had to scramble to go to the store or order from another place to get it in time. This year the most popular color would probably be blue, pink, or black.
The process for the boys is a little more simple. They have to get pants and a shirt and if they go with a date usually they match their bowtie with the color of the girl’s dress. Joey Scofani said, “This year I just wore black pants black shirt with a light purple bowtie to match my date.” Usually the boys will wear bright colored shoes and a plain outfit or shoes to match their bowtie and just white shirts and colored pants. For shoes this year the wrap heels were very popular for girls as well as bright colored shoes for boys.
This year’s homecoming was such a huge hit that everyone’s outfits were very stylish. At homecoming during the dance most people switched out of their heels into more comfortable shoes such as converse, other sandals or some type of sneaker. At next year’s homecoming, my prediction is that there will be a lot of red and green dresses. Can’t wait for next year!
