TC versus Rival East River Once More

Another smackdown for the East River Falcons with the final score of the game coming down to 31-6. The game was a blackout occasion for the supporters in the stands, which means all instead of wearing purple as usual, they wore black. The crowds were just as rowdy and supportive as every other night, even considering that the game was moved to a monday due to hurricane Dorian. For the 9th year consecutively, we beat East River and the players and happy to continue this triumph through the continuing years.

The game started off with immediate leads with touchdowns from junior Adrian Florez and sophomore Johnathon Cabral. Cabral said, “It’s such a rush when you know you’ve put your team in the lead, it makes me feel prideful in myself and my team.” In the first quarter there was also interception by junior Trey Lubin and senior Connor Recio in the second quarter. The crowd and team were pleased to end the first quarter with 13-0 and then continue to hold them throughout the second quarter.

The second half of the game had just as much energy, if not more from the student section and the team itself with the continuation of touchdowns in the third quarter and the opposing team still having a score of 0. Recio said, “We all played pretty good, and we put up points early, after that East River quit and didn’t want to play, after that is when we took off.” At the end of the third quarter the score was already 25-0 and TC was still playing the game with full effort.

The wolf pack is excited for the upcoming games and victories awaiting. The next home game is the homecoming game. Junior Daniel Bello, who has been on varsity for two years now, said, “I’m excited for the rest of season and to continue to bond with the team, I have a feeling this season will be a good one.” The team continues to practice and will continue throughout the fall.
