Many students at TCHS enjoy watching and attending the Anime Club every Thursday. After school, from 2 – 3:15 p.m, they get to participate in amusing activities. Entertainment varies from dance battles to binge watching animes. They also get to assimilate new things, such as new shows, language pronunciations, and the cultural aspects of Japan. It’s a club where you could hang out and relax based off of anime.
Freshman Samantha Wells attends the club, and describes her experience as engaging and relatable. “It’s fun and you can actually connect with people,” Wells claimed. She mentioned they have also played games there too, such as “Super Smashed Bros.” Wells’ main intention of enlisting was to make friends who’re interested in the same concepts. She’s been making multiples lately, and have kept in touch ever since, thanks to the Anime Club.
Every month is a new theme, correlating with anime. This month’s theme for November, is magic. So beforehand, members get to vote and decide which magical shows to watch. Today, students and members watched the anime “Puella Magi Madoka,” and discussed the pleasurable elements about their favorite scenes. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and giggles from all around. The show was silly and gave fun moments to all. Afterwards, they voted again to determine next Thursday’s new activity.
Freshman Alannis Del Valle Berrios describes her content about the anime, “I feel overall happy and the scenes were silly. But, it was fun to enjoy.” She was grouped alongside Samantha Wells and other friends, enjoying the show. Valle’s intention of joining the club, was because she adored anime and was fond of it. And she, as well, wanted to make friends just like the rest of the members. And it worked! Her overall impression of the club, was described as humorous, fun, and a great way to make new friends. “It’s a good start for anyone who enjoys anime as much as we do. I recommend it,” Valle exclaimed.
