ArtsShowcase   Regal Cinemas and Avalon Park Eye Care arranged a contest between Timber Creek and East River High School’s student art that was related to the movie The Host coming to theatres  Mar. 29.

   The artwork is being viewed in the lobby of the Waterford Lakes, Regal Cinemas.

   Movie Goers will vote with an entry/voting box as well as post comments to Avalon Park Eye Care’s Facebook page.

   The contest will end on Mar. 29, the opening day of The Host.  Votes from Facebook and the ones in the lobby of Waterford Lakes Regal Cinemas will be added up and the final results will be reported back to the high schools on Apr. 1. Avalon Park Eye Care will supply pizza for the winning school’s art department.

An alumni of UCF, I began teaching English at Timber Creek High School in 2004. I have taught all grade levels, but spent the most time teaching English 3 honors before becoming a writing teacher. I now teach Creative Writing regular and advanced, Journalism, and Newspaper. I am also the adviser for FLOW: the TCHS Literary and Art Magazine, the Key Club, Quill and Scroll, the Life Skills Club, and our schools Poetry Slam team. I am married and gave birth to our first child, James, in May of 2013. In my free time (hah!) I think about school and spend time with my family.
